Photo scanning – If you would like any photographs to be digitally scanned for display or use on your computer, I can do this for you. 

Using the very latest USB Canon flatbed scanner gives me an excellent high resolution scan.

All photographs will be saved onto a high quality CD in a file format that your computer can recognise. I can also transfer a sequence of the photographs and create a slideshow that will play on your PC and DVD player. For more information please see my Digital Services – Photo to CD/DVD

Photo restoration – If you have an old photograph that is damaged or you want a copy I can help. I can restore and repair damaged photographs;

All photographs that are restored and edited are saved on CD so your photograph will keep its full glory over the years.

Whether you are an individual with family memories or wishing to preserve local history, I understand how important it is to save old photographs from the inevitable passage of time.

Your photograph is first scanned; the image is then cropped or resized if necessary, corrected for colour balance, contrast and brightness. Any torn corners are replaced. Creases, lines and marks on the background are repaired. Defects on the subject matter (such as a person) are repaired.

Two or more photographs can be combined into one composite picture. Backgrounds can be altered or completely replaced. Sections of the scene can be removed and replaced. If you require any other photo editing then please feel free to ask me.

Photos to CD/DVD – I can transform any digital photographs to a slideshow that plays on your home DVD player. The Slideshow can have transition titles, fades and music of your choice can also be added.

I can build your digital photo library and make it work for you the way it should do. I can also create slideshow CDs for your loved ones, family and friends. These make an excellent gift or unique present.

VHS video to DVD – Most of us have old VHS home videos that have been collecting dust in the back of the cupboard for years. Bring your home VHS videos back to life. Whatever memories you may have stored away on your video tape why not take advantage of your DVD player and give those VHS home videos a new lease of life, before they get chewed up in the VCR and lost forever.

From weddings and christenings, school plays, babies first steps, birthdays and graduations, to just good old fun, there is no time like the present to keep those precious moments alive forever by transferring them to a shiny new DVD. I can transfer any VHS footage to DVD.

I can also convert VHS-C which is a miniature version of VHS to a DVD.

Music CD to MP3 conversion – Have you got any CD album new or old that you would like converted to MP3 format? Why? MP3 is a recently new standard for audio compression. It is capable of 10:1 compression ratio with no noticeable loss in quality.

With the compression ratio being so high you are able to fit around 15 CD albums onto 1 CD, these will play on your computer and other devices that use the MP3 format. I can organise and categorise your CD collection by artist in easy to view folders, making it very easy to find any album and any track on the CD.

MP3s have become a popular way to distribute CD quality music on the Internet and over Email. MP3s can also be used to play on your MP3 player, iPod and mobile phone. MP3s can also play on all computers and laptops and even in presentation packages such as PowerPoint etc

Digital video editing – Digital video camcorders are getting cheaper and cheaper while the video quality is getting better and better. Almost everyone I know has lots of digital video tapes at home stored in a drawer or the cupboard.

I can digitally edit your digital tapes and transfer to a DVD. Each DVD I produce comes complete with photographs of the event on the actual DVD, text of your choice, front and back sleeve design and neatly placed in a DVD case.

Editing is removing unnecessary footage, but in the hands of a creative and talented editor your finished video will be a memorable one and something to cherish. There is no substitute for good editing.

E-business cards on CD – A CD-Card is simply a CD-ROM but in the shape of a business card. The actual size of CD-Cards is similar to that of traditional business cards - 5.6 cm x 8.6 cm. You can carry them around in your wallet or purse. Each card holds up to 32 Mb of data and although it is not round, it works in any tray or spindle type PC-CD-ROM drive with no special hardware or software required.

Compact, durable and cost effective, the E-business card combines the practicality of a traditional business card with the benefits of an interactive CD ROM. You can show the company catalogue, have your Website which allows you to view offline, show a corporate presentation and even include electronic work samples - all on your business card. I can also design and print labels for your E-business cards.

Website to PC CD-ROM – The internet, by use of HTML or Flash and a graphical browser can convey text and pictures on-demand to users. Well-designed sites are attractive to look at, easy to follow, and provide user-interest to ensure viewers explore the site and come back for more. The concept of a web site can also be transferred to a CDROM or media-card presentation or an intranet running internal data systems, quality and training manuals and communication networks.

HTML pages don't look good when printed and documents produced in a word processor may well face font and page-break problems when transmitted over the web. Printed brochures and technical specifications are well suited to the high-resolution Adobe Acrobat 'portable document file' (PDF) format. When properly designed, PDF files are small, of high quality, are cross-platform and are easily transmitted by email, CDROM or over the web.

Macromedia Flash can provide an exciting graphical interface with good control over printing. File-sizes can be kept very small, and the same design may be usable for web, CDROM (including the credit-card sized media cards) and presentations.

Mobile phone SIM card backup – If you lose your phone, or it gets stolen, the cost of getting a new phone is bad enough, but also it is often impossible to replace all the contact numbers that were stored on the phone’s SIM card.

It is your insurance against losing your data if your phone gets lost or stolen, but is equally useful when you change your phone’s SIM card, as you will not have to re-input all of the data onto the new phones SIM card.
