For example: you can normally give a PC a major performance upgrade (motherboard, processor and ram) for around 1/3rd of the cost of buying a new PC.

PC upgrades or new computer systems can also be delivered, setup and installed in your home or business.

I perform many minor upgrades and can supply hardware such as CD & DVD writers, Motherboards, hard drives, CPU, RAM, and Windows etc. Major upgrades such as motherboard, hard drive & CPU changes are carried out in my workshop to ensure full performance and compatibility, after any upgrades I like to put the PC through various tests to check for conflict problems.

From simply adding some extra RAM, upgrading to Windows XP, or wanting a performance custom-built system, any upgrade is not a problem.

When you reconnect your portable computer to your main computer (or insert a removable disk containing the modified files), synchronising automatically updates the files on your main computer to the modified versions. This is a safe and fast way as it will only copy modified files that you have changed. Remember synchronising can be copied to anywhere on your PC or across a Network.

Backup must be either on a CD or DVD ROM, I always recommend that also a full backup is stored on DVD ROM as there are many ways you can unintentionally lose information on a computer. A child playing the keyboard like a piano, a power surge, lightning, hard drive crash and sometimes equipment just fails.

True Cost of Having No Backup Data
Almost as important as admitting it can happen to you, is recognising the cost of data loss. Most people don't realize how much they have invested into the data on their hard drive. Forget about the obvious things like financial data (Receivables, Payables, and Tax Information), which we know would be disastrous to lose. Instead think about the man-hours re-installing the base software on your computer, reconfiguring your environment to suit your preferences again.

Losing your e-mail addresses and Internet bookmarks without a full data backup, getting up and going again could easily cost you several days of your time. How much is your time worth to you?

On the other hand, occasional full data backups, combined with nightly backups of key data, will often turn several days of lost productivity and weeks of reorganising into an hour of restoring your disk image, and key data that may have changed since the last full backup.

Website design – If you need a website designed, text, graphics and photos etc, please let me know. I can design different style layouts and create logos for your website. Once the website is finished you will have it written onto CD ROM for you to check before I publish it on the “World Wide Web”. Website updates and management can be maintained by you or me. Domain name and hosting will be all included in the cost.

Website hosting - Once your Website has been designed, it needs a home in cyberspace. I can offer fast reliable hosting for all types of websites which will give you 24/7 immediate login. A complete range of hosting options from basic plans for home users to comprehensive business plans and reseller packages and various dedicated hosting options.

Domain registration – Once you have designed a website, you need to choose a name. For example www.leemansfield.co.uk and www.pcfixit4u.com are my website domain names. When choosing a domain name you are given options of choosing how the prefix at the end will finish, the most popular ones in the UK are .co.uk, .com, .org. I can help you choose and register a domain name of your choice. Unfortunately you cannot own your domain name, they are only rented for 2 or 5 years.

PC health check – Slow PC? files un-organised? It is becoming increasingly important to make sure that our PCs are regularly health checked. The irretrievable loss of work and data of sentimental value like family photos etc which is stored on PCs because we haven't taken the right precautions, can be at minimum a headache, or for businesses a real nightmare!

On-going support - If your computer and, more importantly, the information on it are important to you then on-going preventative support and maintenance is far safer than relying on the “after the event” emergency phone call. If you are not connected to the Internet yet I can advise you on the variety of providers and options that are available through broadband. Once you are connected or even may want a speed upgrade I can set you up a unique Email name no matter if you want to use the old dialup method or the advanced and faster broadband. I can advise you on which Internet package to choose to save you money. If you want Email for any other members of your family, not a problem, I am able to setup multi user accounts to suit your needs. You need to be connected to the internet to be able to use, send and receive Emails.

Windows re-installation – If your computer needs to be totally wiped off (formatted) and windows reinstalled, I will call to your home, ask you if you need anything saving or backed up, disconnect all of the computer cables, take the computer to my workshop and format the computer. I will re-install windows operating system and all of the appropriate drivers that are needed for your computer to run smoothly. Once I have the computer running smoothly I normally take a complete backup on DVD, this makes it much faster and cheaper for yourself if you ever have to reinstall windows in the future.

Backup Emails and restore – Emails are very important and could be vital to you. It’s not just about backing up your Email but also backing up the file attachments such as, photos, important files from friends and family and also a backup of your Email address book is important. I can offer a complete Email and address book backup to CD or DVD ROM. If you’re Emails are important I suggest weekly or monthly backups as an option. If your PC ever goes down I can restore all the Emails back to your PC, having a backup is the most important aspects in computing, a backup in my eyes is “piece of mind”

New computer installation – Setting up a new personal computer for the first time can be very intimidating. Those first moments of ownership can be incredibly frustrating. I will make sure that everything is connected and that the computer's basic software is set up properly. I will install the hardware and software so that you don't have to wade through user manuals and set-up diagrams, sort out the dozens of power cords and cables. If this isn't your first computer, you know how stressful that can be. Virus, Trojan & Spyware Detection, Removal and Protection - A computer virus is a computer program that is written by a malicious author. They spread by copying themselves, then transferring on to other computers. There are around 53,000 computer viruses in existence, with a new one detected every 18 seconds. A computer virus can do anything from popping up a short message to wiping key files so your computer doesn't work.

A Trojan is when a user attaches an infected file to a desktop computer with an internet connection, or logs onto the internet using a wireless connection, the Trojan sends a message to whoever planted it. Then they can steal files and passwords or delete data from the device. The backdoor could potentially also provide a way to take control of any files on your computer

Spyware and Adware, also called "Malware", are files made by publishers that allow them to snoop on your browsing activity, see what you purchase and send you "pop-up" ads.  They can slow down your PC, cause it to crash and record your credit card numbers and worse.  If you're like most Internet users, chances are you're probably infected with these files.  Simply surfing the Internet, reading email, downloading music or other files can infect your PC without you knowing it.

Transfer data from one PC to another – When it is time to upgrade your computer or even buy a new one, you have to think about all those important files that you need to transfer from old to new; Emails, address book, photos, fonts, project files, word/excel files, data files for certain software programs you may have installed etc. Tracing these files and organising these so that these are transferred successfully over to the new computer can be quite a challenging task. I can offer you my services and backup all of the data you want backing up then transfer to the new computer.
